Many businesses are still pushing ahead with mergers and acquisitions despite the looming uncertainty of Brexit - that's the view of lawyers at Lanyon Bowdler who say 2019 has already proven to be a busy year.
Ed Burrell, a specialist in corporate and commercial law, has just been appointed as a partner of Lanyon Bowdler after more than three years with the firm.
He assists a variety of clients across Herefordshire and beyond, dealing with a range of corporate transactions and commercial contracts, and said there had been a lot of positive activity in recent months.
Ed said: “The continued political uncertainty does have an effect on some businesses, but the majority of our clients are carrying on regardless - especially those based in the UK dealing predominantly within the domestic market.
“I am thoroughly enjoyed my time working with businesses in Herefordshire and the surrounding areas and am delighted to become a partner with Lanyon Bowdler.”
He qualified as a solicitor nine years ago and has been with Lanyon Bowdler for more than three years. Ed features in the 2019 Legal 500 which recognises him as a ‘Next Generation Lawyer', stating he is ‘experienced and practical'.
Managing partner, Brian Evans, said: “I am delighted to announce Ed as a new partner with Lanyon Bowdler.
“He joined us in February 2016 having qualified as a solicitor in 2010, working for firms in Oxfordshire having previously had a career in business for large FTSE 100 listed companies.
“Since joining us he has proved to be a considerable asset to the corporate and commercial department, undertaking a broad mix of work.”
Ed has a wealth of experience dealing with employee share schemes, shareholder disputes, franchise arrangements and commercial contracts, including software licence agreements.
He assists businesses across various areas, encompassing manufacturing, agriculture, science and care sectors.
